What the partnership covers

Graphic Packaging announced on November 4 that North American nutraceutical brands can access its Boardio paperboard canister through Combined Technologies Inc. (CTI), an Indiana-based contract packer. The company describes a mostly paperboard structure with size and barrier options intended to protect against oxygen and moisture. The announcement concerns market access and available formats, not proven shelf life for every product.

Different formats, different tests

For powders, examine filling dust, moisture pickup and contamination at seals. For tablets and capsules, consider oxygen and moisture exposure as well as breakage and movement in transit. Ask for oxygen- and water-vapor-transmission test conditions, lid and base joint data, post-fill seal validation and shelf-life evidence using the actual formulation. These are editorial specification questions, not reported test results for a specific Boardio construction.

Keep claims and measurements apart

The announcement’s statements about plastic reduction and cost depend on final configuration and comparison baseline. Before conversion, validate product-specific barrier and stability performance, filling-line compatibility, local recyclability and total cost separately.
