As naphtha prices more than doubled due to the 2026 Middle East war, plastic film packaging costs rose by more than 40%. Paper companies such as Hansol Paper and Moorim Paper are launching paper-based alternatives, while Coupang and CJ Logistics are accelerating the shift away from plastic film.
